This is a very gay announcement

Thinkbeforeyouspeak.com has released its new campaign on the issue of teens experience homophobic remarks and harassment.

” This campaign aims to raise awareness about the prevalence and consequences of anti-LGBT bias and behavior in America’s schools. Ultimately, the goal is to reduce and prevent the use of homophobic language in an effort to create a more positive environment for LGBT teens. The campaign also aims to reach adults, including school personnel and parents; their support of this message is crucial to the success of efforts to change behavior.”

I’d say this helps a lot more people than teens, really, many adults are still acting like a kid.

They have also enlisted Wanda Sykes and Hillary Duff to appear in two PSAs that draw attention to the phrase “that’s so gay” and its interpretations.

SMiLe.dk Strikes Back this Summer

2008 is the year of come backs, with Cyndi Lauper, Paula Abdul and now SMiLe.dk.  I’m sure you have danced to the songs like “Butterfly” and “Boys” on DDR. The dance group that swept the world of DDR is coming back after a long break, with their brand new single “Doki Doki.”  They will be performing live at San Japan, an anime convention located in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on August 9th, 2008 (visit http://www.san-japan.org for more info).

Batman Gets Another Milk Moustache

Christian Bale from The Dark Knight became the latest hero to support the “Body by Milk” campaign which was created to encourage teens to stay lean and healthy.

Batman’s ad copy reads: “Others reload. Batman refuels. Research suggests that milk’s unique mix of nutrients can help athletes recover after exercise. And its protein can help build muscle. So train hard and drink lowfat or fat free milk, because the Batmobile isn’t the only thing that needs to refuel.”

The ad launches on June 1. The Dark Knight opens everywhere on July 18.

This is WE tv, totally high school

Coming to WE tv, “High School Confidential” stars 12 girls and it’s all about their four-year high school lives. Apparently one was pregnant, one was diagnosed with a brain tumor, one was anorexic…etc…

Why only girls anyway? As if they assume high school boys problems aren’t “interesting” enough. What about that fat kid? That nerd? That closeted gay guy? Hmmmm maybe that’s what they are shooting now. After this HSC there’ll be an HSC- Boys Only edition

So who might watch this?

1) Parents – Apparently the creator of the show is also a mother, so it’s targeting audience like herself

2) High School students- As they can relate most

What about the others? I don’t think the show would be able to draw a huge amount of audience from other groups. My first reaction to this was “This is totally high school”
