The UK receptionist/gymnast Alison Caroll has just been announced as the new face of Lara Croft. No more Angelina Jolie? Not quite, according to the Telegraph:
“But Carroll has not landed a movie role – instead she will promote the new Tomb Raider video game, Underworld, which is released in November. Nell McAndrew found fame as the first Lara Croft model in the 1990s. Carroll will star in TV adverts and travel the world to meet Lara Croft fans.
“This is a fantastic opportunity and I am really looking forward to embracing Lara’s world,” she said. “I still can’t believe they chose me to take on the role of Lara – and I can’t wait to get stuck in. This is my dream job. I have always wanted to be an action hero and hope to be able to use my gymnastic ability to perform all of Lara’s stunts.”

After the Gorillaz, Linkin Park and even Shakira, now Britney Spears is having an animated version of her music video “Break the ice.” Apparently she’s been too busy helping her dad to deal with the legal issues. In this video she’s a cloned/man-made assassin of some sort with super human abilities (Bionic woman anyone?)
The video didn’t do her justice though, the animated version of her is too sane and sober (not to mention hot.)

After getting “Lost”, Maggie Grace ( The Fog) gets taken in Paris and sold into slave trade. Directed by Pierre Morel (Banlieue 13), Taken stars Liam Neeson as the father of estranged Grace and also a former spy. The plot sounds kinda “uh-uh” to me but with a cast like this, it makes me wonder if good acting and directing can make up for the plot.
Taken is written and produced by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen and shot in Paris. Expected to be released in France on February 27.
P.S. Am I the only one who miss Grace’s blond hair?
