The New Lara Croft: Alison Carroll

The UK receptionist/gymnast Alison Caroll has just been announced as the new face of Lara Croft. No more Angelina Jolie? Not quite, according to the Telegraph:

“But Carroll has not landed a movie role – instead she will promote the new Tomb Raider video game, Underworld, which is released in November. Nell McAndrew found fame as the first Lara Croft model in the 1990s. Carroll will star in TV adverts and travel the world to meet Lara Croft fans.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and I am really looking forward to embracing Lara’s world,” she said. “I still can’t believe they chose me to take on the role of Lara – and I can’t wait to get stuck in. This is my dream job. I have always wanted to be an action hero and hope to be able to use my gymnastic ability to perform all of Lara’s stunts.”

Karl Lagerfeld Appearing in Grand Theft Auto

It’s just been announced that the designer/photographer will be playing a role in the newest installment of Grand Theft Auto, where he’ll DJ on air at the game’s K109 The Studio station.

According to WWD “Players can pick from multiple radio stations for the soundtrack, ranging from licensed songs to new ones. Lagerfeld picked his favorite electronica and dance music and peppered the selection with some of his rapid-fire commentary. ‘They had written a politically incorrect dialogue,’ the designer said. ‘I loved it, [particularly] in a time when everybody wants to be so politically correct when they talk.’ He didn’t have to dig too deep to find his music selection. ‘Music is part of the life of fashion, too,’ he said. ‘Through the famous sound stylist Michel Gaubert, I’m very much ‘au courant’ and know what’s going on.'”

Girl Fight: DOA vs Final Fantasy

Monty Oum, a digital art group, is launching its series named “Dead Fantasy.” It includes the girls from the hip RPG series “Final Fantasy” as well as the girls from the 3D fighting game series, “Dead or Alive.” In this movie, you can see the girls from both games try to battle each other out (with the chicks from DOA as a team against the chicks from FF series).

Here’s what Monty said, “First thing I usually decide on when I make a movie is the “why is this cool?” And as far as this movie goes, the coolest part about the movie is how it ends. Which is what you’ll see after watching it, and why I’m really REALLY excited about getting started on Dead Fantasy II-V. But more on that later.”
