Pink’s Life After Divorce: So What

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s been a long time but the wait is worth it. Listen to Pink’s So What, produced by Max Martin. This new single solidifies her position as pop’s rock girl with a stomper that includes blaring guitars, subtle synth flicks and a hooky chorus that will hit you with flue-like infection.  “So What” deals with life after marriage as Pink makes several references to her divorce of Corey Hart after his rumored infidelity. The video for the single will premier on August 22 and will show the singer riding up and down the Sunset Strip in a lawn mover.

And yes, just like Stupid Girl, there is a reference to Jessica Simpson.

Crush:David Archuleta

Here is American Idol runner-up David Archuleta’s new single.

Warning: extremely addictive pop ballad.

Moon Crying and Do Me More

Divas in Japan are going all out this summer. With Ayumi Hamasaki’s world tour on the way, Namie Amuro and Kumi Koda have both released their new singles and videos. Amuro’s Do Me More is a catchy dance hit following her previous Black Diamond and I’d say it’s inspired by Gwen Stefani and Timbaland (watch the video and you’ll know what I mean). Koda’s Moon Crying is a sad ballad about a lover’s death. Miss Koda has sure changed her style from sexy pop diva to ballad queen in her past few albums. I think I like her being a diva more.

P.S. Koda should never be on tv without make-up again, ever!

Lady Gaga, Robin Thicke and Miss Universe

So people didn’t just love Miss Universe 2008 and Crystal Stewart’s fall, but also its music. Here are the two official music videos of the songs used. Robin Thicke‘s Magic as heard in the night gown competition and Lady Gaga‘s Just Dance (featuring Colby O’Donis and Akon) as heard in the bikini competition.

On one hand we have platinum seller, R&B and soul singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and occasional actor Robin Thicke. On the other we have 22-year old dance-pop and electronica musician who has written songs for Pussycat Dolls. I sure am looking forward to more music face offs between the two.

Disturbia Never Looked So Good

Okay, So I’ve never been a fan of Rihanna’s vocal ability. Yet she always manage to get good songs so I just had to put up with her. I would be so much happier if her songs were sung by other artists that actually CAN sing (Rachel Stevens would be my first choice to take over her songs). Anyway, back to Rihanna and Disturbia. Another new video from her album, Good Girl Gone Bad. It’s another catchy dance song like S.O.S. and Pon de Replay. If you like those you’re gonna like this, and I suppose this song will go around for weeks (naturally for Rihanna). Moving on to the video, got some make-up, a little creepy, dark and dirty while letting Rihanna look good in it. It’s a nice pop video, but I don’t feel the Disturbia. Bum bum be-dum bum bum be-dum bum….

Disturbia

The Dø At Last

Upon their successful first album, The Dø has just released their second music video ‘At last‘. Watch out for oranges, because you get many of them in this video. The story revolve around people in the dance floor with unwhole oranges trying to find the remainding half/ perfect match. The smart thing is that the video points out the ‘perfect match’ dose not necessarily be who you want it to be. You see people fighting just to try to squeeze their oranges to make it fit. Of course, the perfect match may also be of the same sex or a totally different age group, because there are no rules.
