The Will & Grace star opened earlier this month in  Damn Yankees with Cheyenne Jackson and Jane Krakowski, making his New York stage debut in the Encores! Summer Stars series at City Center.

According to The New York Times interview; “To [Hayes] Damn Yankees isn’t about sin and salvation, “it’s about how the grass is always greener on the other side, but in the end knowing who you are, being true to yourself and being happy with that.”

Spotlight on Anastasia Volochkova

Anastasia Volochkova is a Russian prima ballerina trained in the Vaganova Ballet Academy by Natalia Dudinskaya, who was a famous pupil of Agrippina Vaganova. She then danced with the Mariinsky Ballet for four years and won the Serge Lifar Competition in Kiev in 1996.

In September 2003 Volochkova was fired by the Bolshoi administration amid accusations that she had become too fat and that male dancers had refused to work with her because of her height and weight, allegations which she emphatically denied. After a media storm subsided, she was invited by Yuri Grigorovich to work as a prima ballerina in a theatre he runs in Krasnodar.

Too fat? I don’t think so. The video is her dancing to “Adiemus” sung by Miriam Stockley, enjoy.
