It’s bigger, bolder, more expressive, more extreme. Wakeboarding is more of everything that’s good about water skiing. SO-U.TV brings you to Hong Kong to witness one of the coolest games of all.

Read, Read and Read
So it’s summer time and for those who rather stay in air-conditioned homes, here are some reading suggestions. They are not new so chances are you might have already read them, that’s why I’m listing out books that are good for re-reading. If you haven’t read them, you should. If you have, you would most likely agree on the fact that they are those who worth the time to be re-read.
Poppy Shakespeare by Clare Allan: You are probably wondering; “Wait, isn’t that a movie shown on Channel 4 starring Anna Maxwell Martin (Doctor Who, Becoming Jane) and Naomie Harris (28 Days Later, Pirates of the Caribbean, Miami Vice) from the producers of The Last King of Scotland ? Yes, and if you liked this laid-back fun TV movie directed by Benjamin Ross, chances are you are going to like the original more-in-depth novel. As the Guardian put it; “Catch-22 meets One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest…an electrifying debut…surreal, raucous, infuriating and very funny.”
Author preferred text version of American Gods by Neil Gaiman: I don’t think I need to say much about this one. It’s good, it’s grand and you’ve probably read it. Winner of the HUGO, NEBULA, BRAM STOKER, SFX and LOCUS awards, has written this novel of large themes with rich imagination. If you fell in loved with the novel, you might want to try the author’s preferred text. This version of American Gods is about twelve thousand words longer than the on that won all the awards, and it’s the version of which Gaiman is the most proud. Indulge yourself with this untrimmed version of American Gods this summer with a glass of long island iced tea!

For the Love of Pucci
Get this straight, nothing screams I-only-read-Elle-Girl nouveau riche as much as mistaking Emilio Pucci for Gucci. So yeah, I’m not talking about Gucci here. Take note, Marilyn Monroe was buried in Pucci.
Not surprisingly, you would still find this year’s collection of the forever prince of geometric prints is synonymous with geometric prints in a kaleidoscope of colours. Pucci is still selling the boho look with starbursts of colours. The prints this season are a little more linear and clean compared to previous seasons where crazy colours were thrown on the clothes. It sure makes this season a little bit more fresh.
My complain? It is all very eighties and if boho-chic is not your thing, don’t go for it. Otherwise you would only spending huge bucks on something that you hate. There are many other fashionable brands to choose from.

Mamma Mia With Dominic Cooper
Entertainment Tonight recently ran a preview of this summer’s forthcoming Mamma Mia film and even though it looks like it has the potential to be a trainwreck it’s got a few things going for it right off the bat — ABBA, Meryl Streep singing, and the tasty Dominic Cooper.

Looking Back:Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2008
Let’s look back at Marc Jacobs’s New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 2008. show in New York had a twist. After the designer took his bows, the show ran backward, beginning with evening dress and then daytime wear. The theme of the night for his clothes was shattered glass perspective. I know Marc Jacobs like having fun and being a “bad boy” in the fashion industry, (being the complete opposite to his partner at Hermès), but unfinished skirts and dresses missing sleeves? Come on!

Juicy Couture, We all got the sweet tooth for it

Juicy Couture is taking Palm Beach California as its muse for the Spring/Summer 08. A lot of colours used to match simple and fitted cutting. It is no secret that Juicy Couture loves their candy-like colours. This season it continues with more hip colours such as jade, day light yellow and rouge to go along with exotic patterns (bringing on the casual summertime feeling aye?)
From what I am seeing, towelling is still this season’s hip item. Other than the classic velvet towelling tracksuit, exotic printing and patterns can be seen on Juicy Couture’s new items. Towelling and velvet one piece and tube top dresses are also introduced this season. Are you ready for a juicy spring/summer?
And yes, J. Lo and Madonna are still loving it.
