To honour Elton John for finally playing in Vermont, Ben & Jerry’s have created an ice cream flavor based off one of his greatest classics: Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road
The Associated Press reports: “The limited-batch ice cream, made from ‘an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks,’ is a take-off on his 1970s album and song ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.’ It will be available from July 18 to July 25 in the company’s Vermont scoop shops, with proceeds going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, officials said Tuesday.”
2008 is the year of come backs, with Cyndi Lauper, Paula Abdul and now SMiLe.dk. I’m sure you have danced to the songs like “Butterfly” and “Boys” on DDR. The dance group that swept the world of DDR is coming back after a long break, with their brand new single “Doki Doki.” They will be performing live at San Japan, an anime convention located in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on August 9th, 2008 (visit http://www.san-japan.org for more info).
You can listen to their songs from Doki Doki on their website. The party starts August 2008!
Why the decision to release three EPs? (WE SING came out March 18th; WE DANCE came out April 15th; and WE STEAL THINGS will be available as part of the iTunes album bundle.)
It’s been so long since I’ve put anything out; I spent the last year-and-a- half just work-shopping the sounds in coffee shops and everything. And I promised a lot of people I was going to make an acoustic project next – and when I came home from London, I had my funkiest album yet. And I thought, OK, I guess an acoustic album would benext.
Then I came up with the idea of the three EPs, and that gave me the opportunity to release the album songs in a stripped-down, raw format … And I just thought it would be fun – to reintroduce ourselves to the world. ‘Cause I hear so much from the fans, We just like it when it’s just you – just you and Toca. And I do too; I love that. Because I spent a lot of my year as an acoustic duo and a funky band; I divided it up equally. It’s a sort of way to divide up this album, to have an acoustic version and a dance-able version.
